What is Super Cruise?
GM's Super Cruise is the first true hands-free driver assistance technology. This feature provides you with hands-free driving on compatible highways in Canada and the US. It has over 320,000 kilometres of roads mapped, making it easier than ever for you to drive hands-free.
How Does it Work?
Super Cruise uses cameras, sensors, and LiDAR map data, to detect road information. This feature works alongside Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic Lane Change to control your acceleration and braking, set the speed, adapt to the speed of the vehicle in front of you, activate the turn signal, and steer to perform a lane change. It's important to keep in mind that Super Cruise is not designed to avoid road obstacles or act as a safety feature.
How to Use the Super Cruise Feature
To engage Super Cruise in GMC vehicles with this feature, press the Adaptive Cruise Control button on the steering wheel and then press the Super Cruise button. The Super Cruise feature will only activate when it detects a compatible road and proper driving conditions. To disengage Super Cruise, press the Super Cruise button again or press the brake pedal.
